There are perhaps five truly great guitar virtuosos in America today. Roy Lanham is one of these five.

The title of the album was chosen to describe in the fewest words possible the sounds produced by Roy's skill, imagination and feeling to those not familiar with his work.

The Most Exciting Guitar never lets up. An innovator with his five-finger technique, Roy plays everything from familiar ballads to hard swinging uptempo classics and even one country tune which is delightfully and authentically hoe-down. In the uptempo selections few guitarists could challenge his incredibly fast execution.

Backing Roy are two of the best men in Los Angeles -Red Wootten on bass (currently with Benny Goodman) and Earl Palmer on drums. The enthusiasm and strong rapport these three highly gifted musicians felt throughout the recording sessions are projected from every groove of this album.
